      <image:title>Blog - Kinematics of Wheeled Mobile Robots Pt. 3</image:title>
      <image:caption>This looks correct, but it's not. If you try gradually reducing the rotation and keeping the translation the same, you'll notice something wrong. It's helpful to test limiting cases like this, by introducing things very slowly.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5269e87de4b0f35a9eff7300/1460607019505-BH2HSGGXD2ERQ6NWMQNM/partial_success4.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Blog - Kinematics of Wheeled Mobile Robots Pt. 3</image:title>
      <image:caption>I stopped doing the motion plots and just did a single snapshot with velocity vectors. You have to adjust the sign of the wheel velocity to get the vector pointing in the right direction.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Kinematics of Wheeled Mobile Robots Pt. 3</image:title>
      <image:caption>Here you can see all the wheels have the same velocity [vector] as each other, and as the body of the robot. Bingo.</image:caption>
    </image:image>

      <image:title>Blog - Kinematics of Wheeled Mobile Robots Pt. 3</image:title>
      <image:caption>Here's where I started trying to combine translation inputs and rotation inputs. Here the robot has a Y+ translation and a CCW rotation. The net result is a pure rotation about some point on the X axis.</image:caption>
    </image:image>
    <image:image>
      <image:loc>https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5269e87de4b0f35a9eff7300/1460607019965-WHZ03KWT2KXP6PMU58MA/success_9.png</image:loc>
      <image:title>Blog - Kinematics of Wheeled Mobile Robots Pt. 3</image:title>
      <image:caption>Now I'm combining X and Y translation with rotations. I repeated this for different quadrants (translation) and different rotation directions (CW,CCW).</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Kinematics of Wheeled Mobile Robots Pt. 3</image:title>

      <image:title>Blog - Mini Project: Tooling/Fixturing for Tensegrity Rods</image:title>
      <image:caption>I missed some photos in the beginning. These are the two jaws of the vise being faced off with a flycutter while bolted together. This was to ensure that the surfaces were parallel and coincident.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Mini Project: Tooling/Fixturing for Tensegrity Rods</image:title>
      <image:caption>I also had to cut stepper blocks to a certain size in order to ensure the vice clamped the center of the rods.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Mini Project: Tooling/Fixturing for Tensegrity Rods</image:title>

      <image:title>Blog - Mini Project: Tooling/Fixturing for Tensegrity Rods</image:title>
      <image:caption>After tightening the bolts of the vise, I realized the vise was only gripping the two largest dowels. So I cut a piece of rubber to fit in between one of the vise jaws and the dowels to better distribute the pressure amongst the dowels.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio - Demonstration of Weight Capacity</image:title>
      <image:caption>After ramping up the weight with the objects in the lab, I decided to see if it could support a person. I let my friend Benjamin carefully step inside the trailer and sit down. As shown by the photo, there is a noticeable deflection in the angle of the wheels caused by the weight. I do not anticipate carrying such large loads in the trailer, but it is reassuring to know that it can handle them.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>This chart lists all the parts for the final assembly, categorizes them (standard, custom, or unchanged from the customer), and briefly describes their functions. Notice that many parts/assemblies still have multiple, coupled functions. However, decoupling all functions would be very difficult and would likely result in a very expensive product. Good design requires compromise.</image:caption>
